Get to know the vastness of the microcosm around you. Microscope, scalpel, scissors and mounting needles will be some of the tools we use for investigating life mostly hidden from the naked eye. Learn the usage of dyes, how to make your own specimens for microscopy and how to dissect vertebrates. Invertebrate organisms like insects will also be intensively examined.
Learning objectives:
After this course students can…
• Use microscopes and prepare their own specimen slides.
• Dissect vertebrates and invertebrates and identify key structures.
• Use tools like scalpels, mounting needles, glass slides effectively.
• Describe and document findings from microscopy and dissections.
