Now that you have understood the basics of politics, we will deepen your knowledge about participation, political processes, lawmaking and political decision-making in Austria and beyond.
One focus of the course is on the situation of minorities in Europe, especially the Roma in Hungary and why they are begging in the streets of Graz. We will analyse the legal situation and question the statements by Austrian politicians and the media.
Do you know how complex it can be to elect an American president? Do you know how influential small extreme right and left wing parties and movements are? Who votes for which party?
We will also cover current events and attend political discussions and election rallies and compare different political régimes.
