Is critical race theory indoctrination or a way to engage critically with the past? Is talking about gun laws after a mass shooting politicizing a tragedy or common sense? Is de-platforming Andrew Tate censorship or curbing misogyny? In part, your answers to these questions also depend on what media you consume. In this course, we will analyse American media and examine various forms of content (everything from newspaper articles to Twitch streams) in order to understand the role of bias in the construction of narratives within the media and the ways in which these polarize Americans.
