The brain is a fascinating organ. What is the basis of our thinking, our emotions, our desires and our behaviour? What are the structural and functional units of our brain and how are these linked? What can we learn from brain pathology? In Neuroscience you will discuss these and other sense-related questions.
In Neuroscience you will also study the physiological aspects of seeing and hearing, two very important senses for communication. You will look at how the biological design of our eyes and ears relate to colour, brightness, loudness and pitch. Further, we will look at malfunctions in these two organs and what can be done to rectify problems. We plan to have a lecture on neurosurgery, an excursion to an optician/ophthalmologist and a visit to a hearing institute.
